POETRY: an arrangement of words, especially in a rhythmical composition, sometimes rhymed, in a style more imaginative than ordinary speech, written to express deep feelings and thoughts

PROSE: written in ordinary language without meter or rhyme, can be characterized by narration, description and exposition, matter of fact

These are true statements but I also believe that poetry & prose, when well written, are like art and music, in that they reach deep into the soul and make a most distinct connection to Spirit.
