It is important to us that you know, (1) where we are coming from, within and without, (2) what we are doing and, (3) why we are doing what we are doing.
(1) Our roots run deep into the many fields, rivers and woodlands of North Central Florida (the "Other" Florida). Many of us are "transplants" from other places and other lives. Some of us have settled in rural nooks and crannys of old pastures and hardwood hammocks. Others have wild yards in town. We all are emotionally attached to our sanctuaries and studios, thought of as our "Sacred Spaces". We have wild bird feeders and gardens and compost piles. We "reuse & recycle" and we care deeply about what is happening to natural areas here and everywhere else. Most of us are in the general area of Alachua and High Springs, about 25 miles up Hwy 441, NW of Gainesville.
(2) We are a group of artists of different media who have found a common bond. We all have come to a point in our lives where we are creating work that comes from the very core within us. It is our "Purposeful Work", it is what we believe we came here to do. All of our work is about reminders. Reminders to think deeply and breathe. Reminders to laugh, to not take yourself so seriously. Reminders to remember who you are, to look to a higher way of being. Reminders that we are all connected and we are in this life together with all the rest of the Created. Reminders that we live with our Sacred Mother Earth not just on her,that she is a living, breathing entity not just a "resource" to be used or used up and that we need to go about Be-ing more instead of Do-ing more and to take the time to see the rich beauty all around us.
(3) We believe that with this new Millennium it is time to wake up! To see things through "Spirit Eyes" and hear the "Inner Dialogs". We know that there are others out there thinking the same thing. But where do you start and how do you do it? You can start here with us. We are just learning as we go but we are eager to share what we learn along the way and hope that you will also. We could all be a part of the rekindling of a global "greatness". Of becoming the best that we can be and knowing our true purpose instead of just being and doing enough to get by. We plan to share our collective stash of wit & wisdoms, poems & prayers and a multitude of art with which to light up and lift up your life's journey.
